Description
Whether you’re making these for a lazy weekend brunch, a quick dinner, or even a party appetizer, these croissants are a guaranteed hit!
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 croissants, sliced in half
- 6 slices of ham (deli or leftover baked ham)
- 6 slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard (or honey mustard for a milder taste)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 tsp poppy seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Assemble the croissants: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each bottom half of the croissants. Layer a slice of ham and cheese, then top with the other half.
- Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, honey, and garlic powder.
- Brush & Bake: Lightly brush the tops of the croissants with the honey butter mixture and sprinkle with poppy seeds if using. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve warm & enjoy!
Notes
- Use quality croissants! The better the croissant, the flakier and more delicious your final dish will be.
- Add a little heat. If you like a kick, try a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or a dab of spicy mustard.
- Make it ahead! Assemble the croissants in advance and bake just before serving.
- Try different cheeses. Swiss, cheddar, provolone, or even brie all work beautifully in this recipe.
