  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 cups uncooked penne or rotini pasta
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

1. Sauté the Sausage & Aromatics

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced smoked sausage and cook for 3-4 minutes, until browned.
  • Stir in onion and garlic and cook for another 2 minutes, until fragrant.

2. Add the Pasta & Liquids

  • Pour in chicken broth, heavy cream, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir in the uncooked pasta and bring to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and let simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.

3. Make It Creamy & Cheesy

  • Stir in butter and Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat, if desired.

4. Serve & Enjoy
